Questionable for Week 10
Edwards (ankle) practiced fully Friday and carries a 'questionable' game status for Sunday's contest against the Titans.
Analysis: The Chargers designated Edwards for return from injured reserve Wednesday, and the running back could resume action as soon as this weekend if the team elects to activate him by Saturday afternoon. If Edwards does rejoin the mix in Week 10, in his return he'd presumably work in a complementary role in a Los Angeles backfield that's led by J.K. Dobbins and also includes sixth-round rookie Kimani Vidal.

Limited in return to practice
Edwards (ankle) was a limited participant in practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Edwards took part in practice Wednesday after being designated for return from injured reserve earlier in the day. Though the Chargers will have a 21-day window to reinstate Edwards to the active roster, he could be activated from IR as soon as Sunday's game against the Titans, if the team is satisfied with how he looks during practice this week. Regardless of when Edwards returns to game action, J.K. Dobbins should continue to lead the Los Angeles backfield.

Practice window opening Week 10
The Chargers designated Edwards (ankle) for return from injured reserve Wednesday, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Edwards hasn't played since prior to the Chargers' Week 5 bye, but he's eligible to return from IR and will resume practicing ahead of Sunday's game against the Titans. Even if he doesn't get activated ahead of the Week 10 contest, Edwards will presumably be added back to the active roster at some point prior to the expiration of the 21-day practice window. Once available, Edwards will step into a backup role behind J.K. Dobbins.

Lands on IR
Edwards (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Edwards' workload had tailed off in Weeks 3 and 4, as he recorded nine carries for 28 yards in the two prior weeks before the bye. J.K. Dobbins has been a revelation as the team's preferred starting running back, but with Edwards out, it's possible rookie sixth-round pick Kimani Vidal will see his first significant action at the NFL level.

Won't play Sunday
Edwards (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Analysis: With Edwards out versus Denver, Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal are candidates to see added complementary snaps this weekend behind top RB J.K. Dobbins. Edwards thus will target a potential return to action Monday, Oct. 21 against the Cardinals.

Third straight DNP on Friday
Edwards (ankle) remained a non-participant in practice Friday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Edwards has missed all three of the Chargers' practices, so he'll have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Broncos, and it wouldn't be surprising if he's ruled out on Friday's injury report. Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal could see additional opportunities behind J.K. Dobbins if Edwards doesn't play.

Misses another practice
Edwards (ankle) didn't practice Thursday.
Analysis: Edwards also missed Wednesday's session, so he'll likely need to practice Friday in order to have a chance to play Sunday against the Broncos. If Edwards is limited or out this weekend, Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal would be in line to see added complementary snaps behind top RB J.K. Dobbins.

Misses Wednesday's practice
Edwards didn't practice Wednesday due to an ankle injury.
Analysis: Edwards' absence from practice comes as a surprise, considering that he wasn't known to be contending with an injury coming out of the Chargers' Week 4 loss to the Chiefs before the team went on bye for Week 5. He'll still have two more opportunities to increase his activity in practice, but if Edwards ends up missing this Sunday's game in Denver, Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal would be candidates to see complementary work behind top back J.K. Dobbins.

Season low in snaps
Edwards carried the ball six times for 19 yards in Sunday's 17-10 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: The burly running back played a season-low 25 percent of the snaps, which is an alarming number considering the game script was relatively favorable for Los Angeles' run-heavy approach. J.K. Dobbins didn't do a whole lot with the extra carries (14 for 32 yards), but Dobbins has proven to be a significantly more reliable target out of the backfield, which has limited Edwards' fantasy viability.

Dramatic drop-off in carries
Edwards carried the ball three times for nine yards in the 20-10 loss to the Steelers on Sunday.
Analysis: It's a dramatic fall-off in touches for Edwards after he tallied 29 carries through the previous two weeks, although he averaged just 2.9 yards a carry on those looks. It's entirely possible the game plan was heavily reliant on the elusiveness and vision of J.K. Dobbins, who didn't do much with his 15 carries (44 yards), but the uneven split is something to monitor with Dobbins excelling to start the season, Sunday notwithstanding.

Heavy workload in win
Edwards rushed 18 times for 59 yards in the Chargers' 26-3 win over the Panthers on Sunday.
Analysis: Edwards actually outpaced backfield mate J.K. Dobbins by one carry but was markedly less efficient than his teammate. Nevertheless, the Chargers' ability to control both of their first two games and head coach Jim Harbaugh's penchant for the ground attack have combined to afford both backs a solid amount of opportunity to open the season. Dobbins is undoubtedly the more dynamic of the two, however, so Edwards may fall into more of a true complementary role if the game script is different in a…read more

Used often in win
Edwards carried the ball 11 times for 26 yards in Sunday's 22-10 win over the Raiders. He also caught his lone target for two yards.
Analysis: Edwards led the team in carries Sunday, but it was J.K. Dobbins who stole the show by logging carries of 46 and 61 yards en route to a 135-yard day on just 10 touches. The transplanted Baltimore duo figures to split the work evenly in the majority of games, but it'll be interesting to see if Edwards continues to have the leg up on goal-line opportunities. Dobbins scored the lone rushing touchdown Sunday, but it came on a 12-yard run clearly designed to attack the outside of the defense. Perhaps…read more

Co-starter with Dobbins
Edwards is listed as a co-starter with J.K. Dobbins on the Chargers' unofficial Week 1 depth chart heading into Sunday's game against the Raiders.
Analysis: Edwards and Dobbins are both familiar with the rushing scheme of Chargers offensive coordinator Greg Roman, as both running backs previously played under Roman in Baltimore. Dobbins is faster and has better hands, but Edwards should get a steady diet of inside runs and valuable goal-line work after racking up 13 rushing touchdowns with the Ravens in 2023. Kimani Vidal and Hassan Haskins are listed as the backups at running back.

Not suiting up
Edwards and J.K. Dobbins aren't in uniform for pregame warmups ahead of Saturday's preseason game against the Rams, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Other veterans not in uniform include QB Justin Herbert (foot), TE Hayden Hurst, S Derwin James and OLB Joey Bosa. The Chargers may or may not play some starters but seem to be resting their most experienced players. Jaret Patterson, Kimani Vidal, Isaiah Spiller and Elijah Dotson are the backfield options Saturday night.

Edwards is not in line to play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Seahawks, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Also not on track to see action Saturday, per Popper, is J.K. Dobbins, who is listed along with Edwards as a co-starter on the Chargers' unofficial depth chart. With the top duo not slated to log snaps, Kimani Vidal, Isaiah Spiller, Jaret Patterson and Elijah Dotson are available to handle backfield work versus Seattle.

Shares first-team reps
Edward took part in 11-on-11 drills for the first time in training camp Tuesday, splitting reps evenly with J.K. Dobbins, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Dobbins previously got most of the first-team reps while Edwards was eased into camp after undergoing an undisclosed procedure this offseason. Both backs picked up five snaps with the starting offense in full-team drills Tuesday, potentially setting the stage for a timeshare come Week 1. Rookie sixth-round pick Kimani Vidal still has time to make an impression but has been working with the backups so far.

Being eased back in
Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh said that Edwards (undisclosed) went through individual drills during Wednesday's practice, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Harbaugh added that Edwards underwent an unspecified offseason procedure, and as a result, the Chargers plan to give the running back a "longer runway" in terms of being a full participant in practice. As the coming season approaches, Daniel Popper of The Athletic has suggested that Edwards, when available, profiles as the team's lead back, with J.K. Analysis: Edwards was seen going through drills in full pads Wednesday after having been limited to working out on the side during June minicamp. The veteran bruiser appears to be over whatever injury was pestering him during spring. Injured, should be ready for camp
Coach Jim Harbaugh said Thursday that Edwards (undisclosed) worked to the side with trainers during mandatory minicamp and that there's a "high possibility" he will be 100 percent healthy for the start of training camp, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Edwards' injury details remain undisclosed, and while it doesn't currently appear that the Chargers are seriously worried about his status, fantasy managers would certainly prefer for the 29-year-old not to be nicked up at this stage of the offseason. Harbaugh also revealed that Edwards wasn't present for voluntary OTAs. Projected lead back
Following the recent NFL Draft, Edwards profiles as the Chargers' lead back as the 2024 season approaches, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: In the wake of the offseason departure of prior lead back Austin Ekeler, the Chargers backfield has undergone an overhaul, with Edwards and J.K. Dobbins -- both former Ravens -- arriving via free agency and Kimani Vidal through this year's draft, joining returnee Isaiah Spiller, a 2022 fourth-rounder. Headed west to L.A.
Edwards has agreed to a two-year deal with the Chargers, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: The pending deal is set to reunite Edwards with former Ravens and current Chargers assistant Greg Roman. In 17 regular-season games with Baltimore in 2023, Edwards carried 198 times for 810 yards and 13 TDs to go along with 12 catches for 180 yards. With Los Angeles, the Rutgers product -- who turns 29 next month -- seems destined to carve out a significant early-down role, though the composition of the Chargers backfield at this stage is TBD, given that Austin Ekeler is slated to become an…read more

Discussing deal with Ravens
GM Eric DeCosta said Tuesday that the Ravens and Edwards are already discussing a new contract, Clifton Brown and Ryan Mink of the team's official website report.
Analysis: Edwards can become a free agent but might end up re-signing before that happens. If so, it wouldn't necessarily prevent the Ravens from signing one of the big-name RBs available in free agency, though it would at least marginally decrease the odds of that happening. The team also has Justice Hill and Keaton Mitchell (torn ACL) under contract for 2024, though the former mostly played special teams before last season and the latter might not be ready for Week 1. Limited to four touches in loss
Edwards rushed three times for 20 yards and secured his only target for 16 yards in the Ravens' 17-10 AFC Championship Game loss to the Chiefs on Sunday.
Analysis: Edwards did plenty with his sparse opportunities, but the Ravens took an atypical pass-heavy approach, even before game script dictated as much. That left the veteran back with little to do on the afternoon, leading to his lowest touch count since Week 17 of the 2022 campaign. Role slips in postseason
Edwards rushed the ball 10 times for 40 yards in Saturday's 34-10 win over the Texans. He added one reception on two targets for minus-1 yard.
Analysis: Edwards was out-touched and gained by Justice Hill in the blowout win. He still maintained his role near the goal line, though he was stuffed on an attempt from the two-yard line early in the second quarter, only to have Lamar Jackson throw for a score one play later. Much like the regular season, Edwards' fantasy value will come down to his ability to find the end zone, particularly as it now appears that Hill has an upper hand for work outside the red zone.

Poor fantasy output Saturday
Edwards rushed 10 times for 48 yards with a lost fumble and was not targeted as a receiver in Sunday's 17-10 loss to Pittsburgh.
Analysis: Edwards performed well on a per-carry basis, but his fantasy line suffered from a lack of touchdowns coupled with a fumble in the fourth quarter of Saturday's loss. Backup Melvin Gordon also coughed up the rock earlier in the contest, giving both teams two turnovers on eight combined loose balls in slick conditions at M&T Bank Stadium. Solid numbers in Week 17 win
Edwards rushed 16 times for 68 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' 56-19 win over the Dolphins on Sunday.
Analysis: Edwards led the Ravens in rushing yards, and although he wasn't involved at all in the passing game, he made up for it with his 13th touchdown of the campaign on a one-yard run just after the halfway point of the second quarter. Justice Hill provided the explosive plays for Baltimore's ground game Sunday, but Edwards played his usual role of early-down grinder with aplomb. Keeps finding end zone
Edwards rushed the ball nine times for 31 yards and a touchdown in Monday's 33-19 win over the 49ers. He also recorded one reception (on one target) for 39 yards.
Analysis: Edwards took a back seat to Justice Hill in overall opportunities in the absence of Keaton Mitchell (knee), but he still managed one of his more productive games from a yardage perspective. He delivered in his typical goal-line role by plunging into the end zone from one yard away early in the second quarter. Uncharacteristically, Edwards also delivered as a pass catcher on a 39-yard catch-and-run just after halftime, though he was denied the end zone from five yards away one play later. It…read more

Gets 11th TD as Mitchell goes down
Edwards rushed 16 times for 58 yards and a touchdown while catching his only target for 11 yards in Sunday's 23-7 win over the Jaguars.
Analysis: Edwards came just short of scoring his 11th touchdown of the season on a second-quarter carry by the goal line. He was brought down just outside the end zone, and a post-play personal foul moved Baltimore's offensive back 15 yards, setting the stage for a 16-yard touchdown pass from Lamar Jackson to Isaiah Likely on the next play. Held to 15 yards
Edwards rushed the ball six times for 15 yards in Sunday's 37-31 win over the Rams.
Analysis: Edwards continued to see his role slip relative to Keaton Mitchell, as his six carries were his lowest mark since Week 9 and his 15 yards were his fewest from scrimmage this season. Edwards will likely maintain the goal-line role, though Lamar Jackson threw for three long touchdowns in Sunday's victory, so touches near the goal line were very limited. Given the emergence of Mitchell, it will be difficult to trust Edwards down the stretch of the campaign.

Loses ground in backfield split
Edwards rushed the ball eight times for 26 yards in Sunday's 20-10 win over the Chargers. He added one catch on one reception for 11 yards.
Analysis: Edwards was limited to single-digit carries for only the third time this season, as Lamar Jackson and Keaton Mitchell both outpaced him. The loss of work to Mitchell is particularly concerning, as the rookie has generally been a more efficient runner than Edwards, and he could become more incorporated into the offense down the stretch. Even if that's the case, Edwards should retain his goal-line role, giving him a decent chance to find the end zone on a weekly basis. In fact, Edwards has scored…read more

Two more touchdowns in win
Edwards rushed 12 times for 62 yards and two touchdowns and brought in both targets for eight yards in the Ravens' 34-20 win over the Bengals on Thursday night.
Analysis: Edwards remained the Ravens' top back in the big divisional win, although rookie Keaton Mitchell appears to have clearly moved into the No. 2 role after logging eight carries to Justice Hill's one. Edwards' touchdown barrage shows no sign of abating, as he crossed the goal line on three-yard scoring runs in the first and fourth quarter to push his season total to a career-high 10. Remains lead back
Edwards rushed the ball 11 times for 24 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 33-31 loss to the Browns. He added one catch for four yards.
Analysis: Though Keaton Mitchell has proven to be the more explosive player, Edwards remained the lead back in Baltimore and out-touched Mitchell by a 12-4 margin. Edwards was largely unremarkable with the opportunity, though he did manage to fall into the end zone from one yard away early in the fourth quarter. He now has at least one touchdown in four consecutive games, and though his grip on the lead-back role may be tenuous, Edwards will likely remain the short-yardage option at a minimum.

Edwards rushed the ball five times for 52 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 37-3 win over Seattle.
Analysis: Edwards saw four of his five touches in the first half, splitting carries evenly with Justice Hill and Keaton Mitchell. He saw only one rush attempt in the final two quarters, though it was unclear whether that was due to Baltimore's significant lead, or if he is losing ground in the running-back competition. Tough sledding against Titans
Edwards carried the ball 16 times for 41 yards and caught his only target for 12 yards in Sunday's 24-16 win over the Titans.
Analysis: While he saw 17 touches to Justice Hill's 11 on the day, Edwards was far less effective on the ground with a 2.6 YPC, and Lamar Jackson wound up leading the Ravens with 62 rushing yards. The team's backfield will likely remain a timeshare, but Hill appears to be the more dangerous of the two backs with the ball in his hands. Edwards will face a tough test in Week 7 against a Lions defense that's given up only two rushing TDs and less than 50 rushing yards a game to RBs so far in 2023.

Slips into committee role
Edwards rushed the ball 12 times for 48 yards in Sunday's 17-10 loss to the Steelers.
Analysis: Edwards remained the lead back in the Baltimore backfield in terms of carries, but he ceded work as a pass catcher and in the red zone to Justice Hill. That left Edwards with an empty stat line despite a relatively efficient rushing performance. He should continue to have a role moving forward, but it isn't likely to be particularly fantasy-friendly.

Gets 15 carries in Week 4 win
Edwards rushed 15 times for 48 yards and caught two of three targets for one yard in Sunday's 28-3 win over the Browns.
Analysis: After ultimately avoiding entering the concussion protocol following an exit from the Week 3 loss to the Colts, Edwards suited up in Week 4 and led the Ravens in rushing attempts while Justice Hill (foot) and Melvin Gordon got just three carries apiece. Lamar Jackson ran in two touchdowns, and the quarterback now has four rushing touchdowns to Edwards' one, but Edwards has pulled away as the team's primary running back heading into a Week 5 trip to Pittsburgh.

Analysis: Edwards was a full participant in the Ravens' first Week 4 practice, and Harbaugh's comments following the session indicate that the running back is in the clear for Sunday's game in Cleveland since he won't be subject to the five-step protocol. The 27-year-old carried 11 times for 51 yards before exiting late in the fourth quarter of this past weekend's 22-19 overtime loss to the Colts to be evaluated for a concussion, but he was apparently never diagnosed with a brain injury.

Listed as full practice participant
Edwards (concussion) was listed as a full practice participant Wednesday.
Analysis: Edwards was evaluated for a concussion during this past Sunday's 22-19 overtime loss to the Colts, and even though he was back on the field three days later as a full participant in practice, the Ravens haven't yet confirmed whether the running back is still following the five-step protocol for head injuries. At the very least, Edwards' ability to practice fully suggests that he's close to being removed from the protocol, if he was diagnosed with a concussion following his departure from the…read more

Present at practice
Edwards (head) is taking part in practice Wednesday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Edwards left Sunday's loss to the Colts in the second half to be evaluated for a concussion and didn't end up returning during the fourth quarter or overtime. Melvin Gordon filled in as the lead back down the stretch, with the Ravens having already lost J.K. Dobbins to an Achilles tear Week 1 and with Justice Hill sitting out the contest while battling turf toe. Hill missed another practice Wednesday and thus seems less likely than Edwards to suit up this Sunday in Cleveland.

Evaluated for concussion
Edwards is being evaluated for a concussion during Sunday's game against the Colts.

No Hill in Week 3
Edwards could have less competition for backfield snaps and touches Sunday against the Colts, as fellow running back Justice Hill (foot) has been ruled out.
Analysis: Per Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, Hill suffered a toe injury in practice during Week 3 prep. Through two weeks, Hill has notched 19 carries to Edwards' 18. While Edwards is expected to handle the bulk of the rushing attempts Sunday, veterans Melvin Gordon and Kenyan Drake are likely to spell him in passing situations, assuming both are elevated from the practice squad.

Leading rusher in Week 2 win
Edwards rushed 10 times for 62 yards and a touchdown but wasn't targeted in Sunday's 27-24 win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Edwards had one fewer carry than Justice Hill in Baltimore's first game since J.K. Dobbins (Achilles) went down for the season, but the former mustered 21 more rushing yards to lead the team. While Edwards is a non-factor in the passing game (18 career catches in 54 games), his 6-foot-1, 238-pound frame makes him an effective short-yardage back, and Edwards converted from one yard out to open the scoring in the first quarter. Eight carries after Dobbins' exit
Edwards rushed eight times for 32 yards in the Ravens' 25-9 win over the Texans on Sunday.
Analysis: The veteran backup was thrust into a larger role than expected when J.K. Dobbins was forced from the game with what has now been confirmed as a season-ending Achilles tendon tear. Edwards has never averaged under 5.0 yards per carry in his previous four seasons as a complementary option, but he'll now potentially have a chance for the heftiest workload of his career moving forward. Posts 28 total yards
Edwards rushed four times for 21 yards and brought in his only target for seven yards in the Ravens' 20-19 preseason win over the Eagles on Saturday night.
Analysis: Edwards was the second Ravens running back to log a touch Saturday behind Justice Hill, and he put together an efficient showing overall with his limited opportunity. Edwards will be playing out the final year of his contract in 2023 and is reportedly all the way back from his September 2021 ACL tear, and he likely has the inside track to the No. 2 running back job behind J.K. Healthy for minicamp
Edwards (undisclosed) returned to practice for June minicamp, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: He missed OTAs the week prior, with coach John Harbaugh suggesting it was a matter of caution rather than a setback or serious injury. Edwards missed all of 2021 and the first six games of 2022 after suffering an ACL tear in the 2021 preseason, then sat out an additional three games last November with a hamstring injury. Taking things slow in offseason
Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Edwards (undisclosed) will be "partially ready" for mandatory minicamp next week and will be "fully ready" for training camp at the end of July, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Harbaugh added that Edwards hasn't suffered any setbacks, but the medical staff is being cautious. The running back dealt with knee and hamstring injuries during the 2022 campaign, limiting him to just nine appearances, but it's unclear if his current issue is related to either of those injuries. Either way, it sounds like Edwards should be good to go for the start of the 2023 campaign, barring a setback.

Accepts reduced salary
Edwards and the Ravens have agreed to a reworked contract that reduces his 2023 salary by about $1 million but gives him the opportunity to earn the money back via incentives, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: With his base salary dropping from $4.38 million to less than $3.5 million, Edwards likely will avoid being a cap casualty and play at least one more season for the only NFL team he's known. Injuries limited him to nine games last year after he missed all of 2021 with an ACL tear, but Edwards remained efficient on a per-carry basis with just a hair under 5.0 YPC (4.98). Gets 12 carries in playoff loss
Edwards rushed 12 times for 39 yards and caught his only target for 13 yards in Sunday's 24-17 wild-card round loss to the Bengals.
Analysis: Edwards rotated with J.K. Dobbins, but the latter was far more effective on a per-touch basis, totaling 105 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on 17 touches. The Ravens were eliminated from the playoffs with this loss. Edwards has one more year left on his contract after rushing for 433 yards and three touchdowns in nine regular-season appearances.

Edwards (concussion) was listed as a limited practice participant Thursday.
Analysis: Edwards, who landed in the NFL's concussion protocol following Week 18 action, didn't practice Wednesday, but the running back's return in a limited capacity Thursday offers hope that he could gain clearance for Sunday night's playoff game against the Bengals. However, unless Edwards practices fully Friday, he figures to head into the weekend with an official injury designation.

Edwards (concussion) isn't practicing Wednesday, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Edwards suffered a concussion in Sunday's loss to the Bengals and now is in danger of missing a wild-card round matchup with the same team seven days later. The Ravens may also be missing quarterback Lamar Jackson (knee) and perhaps even backup Tyler Huntley (shoulder), potentially setting up J.K. Dobbins to be the focal point of an undermanned offense.

Coach John Harbaugh said Monday that Edwards is in the concussion protocol, Jonas Shaffer of the Baltimore Banner reports.
Analysis: Edwards exited the regular-season finale against the Bengals due to a head injury, and he appears to have been concussed on the play. He will have to pass the NFL's five-step concussion protocol to suit up for the rematch in the wild-card round. J.K. Heightened role awaits
Edwards is expected to be thrust into a larger role in the Baltimore backfield Sunday against the Bengals with J.K. Dobbins expected to be rested for the Week 18 contest, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Even though it has the chance to host a playoff game next week with a win over Cincinnati, a Chargers loss to the Broncos and a favorable coin flip, Baltimore won't risk exposing Dobbins, its top running back, to a potential injury in advance of the postseason. Disappears from game plan
Edwards had three carries for two yards in the Week 17 loss to the Steelers.
Analysis: After turning in his best game of the season -- 11 carries for 99 yards -- in Week 16, Edwards was barely involved against Pittsburgh. Edwards saw his snap count drop from 21 to nine as well. Edwards has as many games with single-digit carries (three) as he does games with double-digit carries (three) since returning from a hamstring injury in Week 12. His workload continues to be volatile, but it's unlikely his usage will be this low again Sunday against the Bengals.

Almost reaches century mark
Edwards carried the ball 11 times for 99 yards in Saturday's 17-9 win over the Falcons.
Analysis: J.K. Dobbins saw one more carry than Edwards, but the latter was by far the more productive back as he set a new season high in rushing yards. In three games since Dobbins rejoined the lineup, Edwards has seen double-digit touches twice, and with the Ravens having locked up a playoff spot Saturday, the duo will likely remain in a timeshare for the final two games of the regular season.

Role slipping
Edwards rushed the ball seven times for 55 yards in Saturday's 13-3 loss to the Browns.
Analysis: Edwards had a fine performance with the opportunity he was given, as he managed lengthy runs of 25 and 10 yards to pace his day. However, he continued to slip further behind J.K. Dobbins in terms of workload, as he had only seven carries as opposed to 13 for Dobbins. That doesn't seem likely to change moving forward barring another injury to Dobbins, leaving Edwards in a backup role.

Overshadowed by Dobbins
Edwards rushed the ball 13 times for 66 yards in Sunday's 16-14 win over the Steelers.
Analysis: Edwards entered the game with a season high of 16 carries, so he didn't lose much in terms of workload due to the return of J.K. Dobbins. Despite working fairly efficiently, Edwards was still overshadowed by Dobbins, who tallied 120 rushing yards and a touchdown. The duo figures to form a 1-2 punch out of Baltimore's backfield, with Dobbins appearing to be the top option. Even so, Edwards should be a safe bet for double-digit touches on a weekly basis.

Edwards is one of four running backs who are active for Sunday's game against the Steelers, with J.K. Dobbins (knee) playing for the first time since Week 6 and with Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill also dressing for the contest, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Zrebiec suggests that Hill will likely be used mainly on special teams, while Drake is expected to rank third in the pecking order at running back. However, the return of Dobbins from injured reserve could prevent Edwards from handling an overwhelming share of the early down work, even though Edwards' snap counts had already been managed over the past two games following a three-week absence beforehand. Shut down in Week 13 win
Edwards rushed six times for 12 yards in the Ravens' 10-9 win over the Broncos on Sunday.
Analysis: Edwards was surprisingly quiet against what had been a vulnerable Broncos run defense and was ultimately out-carried by backfield mate Kenyan Drake, who logged seven totes. Edwards also was disappointingly absent from the air attack altogether while Drake and Justice Hill drew three and two targets, respectively. Analysis: Edwards dominated work out of the Baltimore backfield, as no other running back recorded more than two carries in the game. His actual performance wasn't all that inspiring and was largely salvaged by a one-yard touchdown plunge late in the fourth quarter. Analysis: Edwards was forced out of the game midway through the fourth quarter and did not return. He'll undergo more tests Friday, which should provide more clarity as to the severity of his injury. However, if the initial diagnosis is accurate, Edwards could have a chance to suit up in Week 9 against the Saints.

Questionable to return
Edwards suffered a right hamstring injury in Thursday's game against the Buccaneers and is questionable to return.
Analysis: Edwards was on the field for the first time this season in Week 7 after recovering from a torn ACL he suffered prior to the 2021 campaign. He was questionable for Week 8 after logging limited practices throughout the short week leading up to the matchup against Tampa Bay and had managed to pick up 65 yards on 11 carries before suffering the hamstring injury midway through the fourth quarter. The extent of the issue is unclear, but Kenyan Drake will take over as the top rusher in Baltimore's…read more

Suits up Thursday
Edwards (knee) is listed as active for Thursday night's game against the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Edwards was listed as questionable for the contest after being deemed a limited practice participant Monday through Wednesday, but he'll give it go Thursday. Barring any setbacks, he should continue to head a Baltimore backfield that also includes Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill. Listed as questionable
Edwards (knee) was a limited practice participant Wednesday and is listed as questionable for Thursday's game in Tampa Bay, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The Ravens have eight players listed as questionable, making it tough to get a read on whose availability is actually in doubt. Edwards seems better than a 50-50 bet to play after being listed as a limited practice participant Monday through Wednesday, but there would still be some chance of a workload restriction with his second game back from an ACL tear coming only four days after the first. Edwards (knee) practiced in a limited capacity Tuesday.
Analysis: Edwards made his season debut this past Sunday against the Browns after missing the first six games due to his ongoing recovery from last year's torn ACL. Playing 37 percent of the offensive snaps, he took 16 carries for 66 yards and two touchdowns while working in a timeshare with Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill. With J.K. Dobbins (knee) on injured reserve, the Ravens' backfield situation remains murky, but a healthy Edwards is the most likely option to handle the lead role. Wednesday's practice…read more

Limited on practice estimate
Edwards (knee) was listed as limited on Monday's practice estimate.
Analysis: In his return from a lengthy absence due to a knee injury, Edwards started Sunday's 23-20 win over the Browns and logged 23 snaps en route to pacing the Ravens' rushing attack with 16 carries for 66 yards and two TDs. With no reported setbacks in the contest, it's likely that Edwards' listed limitations suggest that his reps would have been managed had the team practiced Monday. Pair of scores in return
Edwards (knee) rushed 16 times for 66 yards and two touchdowns and failed to bring in his only target in the Ravens' 23-20 win over the Browns on Sunday.
Analysis: The Rutgers product somewhat surprisingly took on lead-back duties in his first regular-season game action since 2020, going into the end zone from seven yards out in the second quarter and one yard away in the third period. Edwards comfortably led the backfield in carries, with Kenyan Drake, who'd put together a 100-yard effort in Week 6, five carries behind him. Analysis: Edwards was activated form the PUP list Saturday and is active for the first time this season. Back in action in Week 7
Edwards is active for Sunday's game against the Browns, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site reports.
Analysis: With Edwards off the PUP list and back in action for the first time since suffering a knee injury that forced him to miss the 2021 season, Mike Davis was made inactive by the Ravens. It remains to be seen how much volume Edwards will see out of the gate after the long layoff, with Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill also in the team's backfield mix, but with J.K. Edwards (knee) was activated off the reserve/PUP list Saturday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Analysis: The Ravens were previously coy when it came to the status of Edwards, who was eligible to return off the PUP list earlier this month, but with J.K. Dobbins (knee) slated to miss the next month and an unimpressive committee led by Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill set to see significant workload, it seemed inevitable the bruising Edwards would be activated. Coach noncommittal on Week 7 status
Coach John Harbaugh refused to divulge whether he'll activate Edwards (knee) from the reserve/PUP list for Sunday's game against the Browns, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The Ravens have until Oct. 26 to activate Edwards, or he'll have to sit out the remainder of the season. Bringing him back Week 7 would make sense because J.K. Dobbins is out with a knee injury of his own. If Edwards doesn't play, the Ravens would have Kenyan Drake, Justice Hill and Mike Davis available in the backfield.

Practicing Wednesday
Edwards (knee) is practicing Wednesday and looks to be closest to a return among Baltimore's players on the PUP and NFI lists, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The Ravens designated Edwards to return from the PUP list Oct. 5 and have one more week to add him to their 53-man roster. He could have a role if he's ready for this Sunday's game against Cleveland or a Week 8 matchup with Tampa Bay next Thursday, as the Ravens now have J.K. Edwards (knee) wasn't activated from the PUP list ahead of Sunday's game against the Giants, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Analysis: Per Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic, coach John Harbaugh indicated Friday that Edwards is getting close to a return, but at this stage the running back isn't quite ready to make his season debut. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Friday that Edwards (knee) is "getting close to a return," Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Harbaugh didn't elaborate much further on the matter, but the fact that the coach didn't directly address Edwards' status for Sunday's game in New York against the Giants suggests that the Ravens might be inclined to wait another week before activating the running back from the PUP list. Returning to practice
The Ravens designated Edwards (knee) to return from the PUP list Wednesday, Clifton Brown of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: The transaction allows Edwards to resume practicing as he works his way back from the torn ACL that forced him to miss the 2021 season. The Ravens will have a 21-day window during which Edwards can be evaluated from a return to the 53-man roster. In the absence of any setbacks, Edwards will have a chance to reclaim a key complementary role in Baltimore's backfield, which is currently led by J.K. Dobbins. Analysis: Edwards started the campaign on the resere/PUP list and was forced to miss the first four games of the season. However, he appears to have made good progress with his rehab and could return to practice as soon as Wednesday. J.K. Progressing with injury recovery
Edwards (knee), who is on the reserve/PUP list and in line to miss at least the first four games of the season, said Wednesday that he's progressing well at this stage, Kevin Eck of the Ravens' official site reports. "For everybody wondering about my recovery I'm doing great and I'm very close," said Edwards, who is recovering from an ACL tear that he suffered last September.
Analysis: The earliest Edwards will be eligible to play is Week 5, when the Ravens host the Bengals. If he's available at that time, what sort of workload he may see hinges on the availability of the team's other backfield options at that point in the season. As Week 1 approaches, J.K. Dobbins' (knee) status for Sunday's game against the Jets is uncertain, with Mike Davis, Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill on hand to handle Baltimore's backfield duties if Dobbins is held out.

Analysis: Edwards is well behind fellow ACL tear sufferer J.K. Dobbins, who was activated from reserve/PUP on Aug. 8 and has been brought along slowly throughout training camp. Mike Davis started the team's first two preseason games and seemingly will be first in line for the Week 1 start if Dobbins isn't ready. Dobbins in terms of their recoveries from torn ACL injuries was solidified Monday when Dobbins was removed from the PUP list. Behind Dobbins in rehab
Coach John Harbaugh said Thursday that Edwards (knee) is a little behind the Ravens' other rehabbing players, Jonas Shaffer of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Analysis: The list includes J.K. Dobbins, who also is coming back from an ACL injury and remains on the PUP list despite reportedly being antsy to practice. Reports at one point suggested Dobbins would have a tougher rehab due to additional ligament damage in his knee, but it seems to have gone the other way around, with Edwards now in more danger of missing the start of the season. Analysis: Harbaugh said both backs are on track with rehabbing ACL tears, making him "hopeful" they'll be available Week 1. Analysis: Edwards and Dobbins both suffered torn ACLs last offseason and subsequently spent the entire 2021 campaign sidelined. Though the backfield tandem may not be ready for the start of training camp, it appears that there's not yet reason for concern about either Dobbins' or Edwards' recoveries. In line for expanded role
With the expectation that J.K. Dobbins is likely to miss the coming campaign with a knee injury, Edwards is poised to lead Baltimore's backfield heading into the 2021 regular season, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Edwards has been effective in a lead role for the team in the past, and with Dobbins no longer in line to lead the way out of the gate this season, the 26-year-old -- who logged 144 carries for 723 yards and six TDs in 2020 -- is in line for expanded work, notably on early downs. Edwards didn't get much work Friday night, but he may now be the Week 1 starter and lead back in a road matchup with the Raiders on Monday Night Football (Sept. 13). Effective in brief showing
Edwards ran for 28 yards on four carries in Saturday's preseason game against Carolina.
Analysis: Edwards was effective as he almost always is. J.K. Edwards won't play in Saturday's preseason game against New Orleans, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Edwards' absence might mean extra work for J.K. Dobbins, but it's more likely the Ravens will keep their depth backs busy in the preseason opener. Apart from a 10-day stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list at the beginning of training camp, there hasn't been any report of Edwards missing practice time with an injury or illness. Co-starter for preseason opener
Edwards is listed as a co-starter on Baltimore's depth chart for the preseason opener.
Analysis: J.K. Dobbins has been expected to be the leader of the backfield this season, but Edwards carries enough cachet to warrant a significant role as well. The 26-year-old signed a two-year, $10 million extension this offseason and has averaged a strong 5.2 YPC over 414 career carries in three seasons, and he is particularly effective in short-yardage situations, gaining positive yardage at an 86.8 percent clip. Analysis: General manager Eric DeCosta hinted at the transaction earlier in the week, but the team still hasn't specified which level of RFA tender Edwards will get. In the likely event that Edwards gets a second-round designation, he'll earn a $3.38 million salary in 2021, while the Ravens get the right of first refusal on any offer sheet. Analysis: Edwards' status as a 2018 undrafted free agent allows him to become a restricted free agent after only three accrued seasons in the NFL. Given the comments from DeCosta, the Ravens are likely to either give Edwards a RFA tender or negotiate a contract to avoid the process. Analysis: Edwards' carry total trailed those of Lamar Jackson (16) and J.K. Dobbins (nine), but he nonetheless helped Baltimore rack up another 236 yards on the ground. Despite the limited workload, Edwards had chances to produce, specifically taking a handoff to the two-yard line before being replaced by Dobbins to begin the second quarter. Similarly, Edwards broke off a 34-yard run early in the third quarter that ended five yards shy of the end zone, though Lamar Jackson ultimately capped the drive…read more

Adds two touchdowns
Edwards rushed seven times for 49 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's 47-42 win over the Browns. He also caught his lone target for four yards.
Analysis: Edwards scored from 11 yards out during the second quarter, then scampered in from the 19 to begin the third. That brought his season total up to six touchdowns, all of which have come over his last eight games. Although rookie J.K. Dobbins again led the Ravens' tailbacks in carries Monday, Edwards still followed last week's 100-yard outing with another valuable display, putting him in fine form ahead of a favorable matchup against the Jaguars in Week 15.

Pops with 100-plus yards
Edwards ran for 101 yards on seven carries during Tuesday's 34-17 win against Dallas.
Analysis: Baltimore reached 200-plus rush yards for the 12th time since the start of 2019, while also posting the second-highest rushing output of any team this season (294 yards). Edwards was integral to attaining those distinctions, breaking off three runs of 20-plus yards against a Cowboys defense that has conceded more than 260 rushing yards on three different occasions this season. However, he only garnered one more carry than Mark Ingram in Ingram's return from a stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list.…read more

Among four active Ravens RBs
Edwards is active alongside fellow running backs J.K. Dobbins, Mark Ingram and Justice Hill on Tuesday against the Cowboys.
Analysis: During a Week 12 loss at Pittsburgh, the Ravens were without Dobbins and Ingram, who were on the reserve/COVID-19 list. As a result, Edwards and Justice Hill split the RB workload, with the former turning nine carries into 10 yards and one TD while the latter had 11 touches for 40 yards from scrimmage. The presence of Dobbins and Ingram on Tuesday further clouds how much work Edwards can expect. Having said that, Baltimore may very well attempt to exploit the Cowboys' bottom-ranked run defense…read more

Finds end zone in loss
Edwards rushed nine times for just 10 yards but scored on a goal-line carry in the Ravens' 19-14 loss to the Steelers on Wednesday.
Analysis: As his final line indicates, Edwards mostly had a miserable time finding running room against the Steelers' stingy defensive front. However, he did salvage his day from a fantasy perspective by powering into the end zone from a yard out with 2:07 remaining in the first quarter to turn a Ray-Ray McCloud muffed punt into points. Edwards' extended opportunity Wednesday came with both Mark Ingram and J.K. Dobbins still on the reserve/COVID-19 list, but with both players likely to be ready for…read more

Slated for starting role Wednesday
Edwards is on track to serve as the Ravens' starting running back in Wednesday's game against the Steelers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Confirming a report from Michele Tafoya of NBC Sports, Rapoport relays that neither J.K. Dobbins (illness) nor Mark Ingram (illness) will be activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list ahead of the Week 12 contest. With top quarterback Lamar Jackson (illness) also sitting out while Robert Griffin steps in behind center, Edwards looks like the clear top candidate to dominate the carries for Baltimore. Ravens-Steelers moved to Tuesday
Edwards and the Ravens won't play Sunday at Pittsburgh after the NFL announced the game was rescheduled for Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Even with this game getting moved for a second time, Edwards is poised to lead Baltimore's backfield after both Mark Ingram and J.K. Dobbins tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday. Considering the Ravens rank second in the NFL in rush play percentage (51.9) and Edwards has averaged 5.1 yards per carry through two-plus seasons, he could have a productive outing Tuesday, assuming the game is played.

Increased role on tap
Edwards is in line for an increased role Thursday against the Steelers after Mark Ingram and J.K. Dobbins were placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Jamison Hensley of ESPN reports.
Analysis: The Ravens' backfield depth is depleted in light of this news, but Edwards has shown he can handle an increased workload in the past. Edwards got the start against the Steelers in Week 17 of 2019 and took 21 carries for 130 yards. He also had his best game of the season to this point against Pittsburgh in Week 8 when he took 16 carries for 87 yards and a score. Losing grip on role
Edwards logged three carries for six yards in Week 11 against the Titans.
Analysis: Edwards was out-carried by J.K. Dobbins 15-3 and made no notable contributions to the outcome of the game. He did get one carry more than Mark Ingram, who has seen his role in the offense diminished. Even so, since Ingram returned in Week 10 against New England, Edwards has commanded only 10 rushing attempts across two contests.

Over 70 yards from scrimmage
Edwards had seven carries for 42 yards and added one catch for 31 yards on two targets against the Patriots.
Analysis: Mark Ingram was back, which impacted the snap distribution in the Baltimore backfield. Still, Edwards was effective when on the field. His snap share fell below 25 percent but Edwards is still seeing carries on a high percentage of his snaps. Put another way, Edwards has a 44.3 percentage of snaps with a touch, which is 63rd percentile among running backs. Finds end zone in win
Edwards carried the ball 11 times for 23 yards and a touchdown and caught both his targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 24-10 win over the Colts.
Analysis: While he didn't gain much real estate, Edwards was able to run for a TD for the third straight game. All three scores have come since Mark Ingram (ankle) got hurt, and Edwards' fantasy value in Week 10 will largely depend on whether Ingram is back in the lineup.

Bigger role awaits sans Ingram
Edwards and J.K. Dobbins are expected to take on elevated roles Sunday in Indianapolis with Mark Ingram (ankle) listed as doubtful for the contest, Daniel Oyefusi of The Baltimore Sun reports.
Analysis: While Ingram was sidelined during last week's loss to the Steelers, both Edwards and Dobbins enjoyed productive days while splitting the backfield work. Though Dobbins outsnapped him 54-26, Edwards still carried 16 times for 87 yards and a touchdown. So long as the Ravens can at least keep the game competitive throughout, Edwards should continue to stay involved on the ground, though Dobbins' superiority as a pass catcher gives him the higher fantasy ceiling of the two.

Season-best day with Ingram out
Edwards registered 87 rushing yards and a touchdown on 16 carries during Sunday's 28-24 loss to the Steelers.
Analysis: Edwards was inserted into a prominent role Week 6 against the Eagles as Mark Ingram (ankle) exited after nine offensive snaps. The Miami product garnered a season-high 14 carries during a 30-28 win over Philadelphia, and Sunday he again set a 2020 best in that category while establishing a 5.4 yards-per-carry average. Leads in carries after Ingram exit
Edwards carried 14 times for 26 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 30-28 win over the Eagles.
Analysis: With Mark Ingram exiting due to an ankle injury, Edwards led the team in carries and found the end zone from seven yards out in the first quarter. Meanwhile, rookie J.K. Dobbins took on double-digit touches for the first time in his young career, though his output was nothing to write home about. Stymied by Bengals
Edwards registered 25 rushing yards on seven attempts, recording zero receptions on three targets during Sunday's 27-3 win against Cincinnati.
Analysis: The 25-year-old back ranked second to Mark Ingram in Ravens carries, but his 3.6 yards-per-carry average ran contrary to the explosive 6.2 YPC clip he established Weeks 1 through 4. Despite the efficiency he displayed prior to Sunday, Edwards still resides within a workshare alongside Mark Ingram and J.K. Dobbins heading into a Week 6 matchup against the Eagles.

Leads way with nine carries
Edwards recorded nine carries for 38 yards in Week 4 against Washington.
Analysis: Edwards led the Baltimore backfield with nine carries, though Mark Ingram tallied just one fewer. While he was on the field to close out a comfortable win, Edwards was also involved early on, earning two carries on the team's first offensive possession. Impressive in limited work
Edwards had four carries for 39 yards Monday against the Chiefs.
Analysis: Edwards paced all Baltimore running backs in rushing Monday despite playing just 13 snaps and seeing just four carries. He is averaging 7.2 YPC through three games (18 attempts) so while Edwards is getting chunks of yardage every time he gets the ball, Baltimore's deep running back rotation is keeping his volume down. Leads team in rushing Sunday
Edwards carried the ball 10 times for a team-high 73 yards in Sunday's 33-16 win over the Texans.
Analysis: After rookie J.K. Dobbins scored twice in the Ravens' opener, it looked like Edwards had been relegated to the bottom of the depth chart, but only Lamar Jackson carried the ball more often Sunday than he did. There was plenty of yards to go around for the entire Baltimore backfield -- the team amassed 230 rushing yards in total -- but it could be tough to predict from week to week which RB will see the biggest share. Light work Sunday
Edwards had four carries for 17 yards Sunday against the Browns.
Analysis: The physical runner is facing added competition for carries this season with rookie J.K. Dobbins in the fold and Mark Ingram remaining the starter. Edwards still got some work, playing 25 percent of the team's total snaps. However, two of his carries came on the final drive when Baltimore was running out the clock. Edwards is effective on a per-carry basis, but he's locked into a very specific role that does not lend itself to much volume when Ingram and Dobbins are healthy.

Overall, he's averaged 5.3 YPC and earned 29 red-zone carries in 27 contests. The Ravens nonetheless nabbed J.K. Affected by Dobbins pick
Edwards' role with the team could take a hit after the Ravens drafted Ohio State running back J.K. Dobbins in the second round, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Baltimore placed a tender on Edwards in March, so he's presumably still in the team's plans to an extent, but the Dobbins pick is a strong statement that the Ravens are still looking to beef up the run game. Dobbins, a second-rounder, has a three-down skill set and projects to be the direct backup to Mark Ingram. If the Ravens are looking to reduce Ingram's workload to keep him fresh later in the season, Dobbins would get the first crack at the carries. Edwards is still uniquely effective in…read more

Retained for 2020
Edwards will remain with the Ravens after the team placed a contract tender on the exclusive rights free agent.
Analysis: Edwards is thus slated to reprise his role working behind Baltimore's top back, Mark Ingram. Edwards finished up the 2019 campaign with 133 carries for 711 yards and two TDs, to go along with seven catches for 45 yards. As long as Ingram stays healthy, Edwards isn't a strong fantasy lineup option, but the 24-year-old has been productive when given the opportunity, having maintained an average of 5.3 yards per carry over his first two seasons with Baltimore.

Underutilized in shocking loss
Edwards saw three carries for 20 yards in the divisional-round loss to the Titans.
Analysis: The Ravens surprisingly went away from using Edwards against the Titans despite the second-year running back ripping off 6.7 yards per carry. Edwards finished the regular season with 133 carries for 711 yards (5.3 YPC) and two touchdowns, proving to be a reliable option out of the backfield behind Mark Ingram and Lamar Jackson. He is set to hit free agency this offseason, but given his skill set and familiarity with the system, Baltimore will likely attempt to retain him.

Could see bigger role Saturday
Edwards could be leaned on out of the Ravens' backfield Saturday against the Titans if Mark Ingram (calf) is limited or sidelined, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Edwards was the lead RB option Week 17 when Ingram rested a tight calf, totaling 22 touches for 132 yards from scrimmage. After the Ravens' first-round bye, Ingram didn't practice until Thursday, when he was limited, and received a questionable designation for the upcoming divisional-round matchup. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Ingram is "expected to play," but Edwards is on hand in the event the former's ability to get on the field is at all compromised.

Piles up 132 scrimmage yards
Edwards carried 21 times for 130 yards and caught one of two targets for two additional yards during Sunday's 28-10 win over the Steelers.
Analysis: Edwards thrived as the team's featured back, rumbling for 6.2 yards per carry en route to a new career high in rushing. Perhaps the only gripe for Edwards' fantasy owners in this one was his inability to find the end zone, as backfield mate Justice Hill vultured a red zone touchdown from Edwards in the second quarter. Edwards is in line for more work in Week 17 with Mark Ingram (calf) ruled out against the Steelers.
Analysis: Edwards turned in his second-highest rushing output of the season against the Brown in Week 16, taking 12 carries for 66 yards. Edwards is ripping off 5.2 yards per carry on the season and is now primed to take on the bulk of the rushing work for at least the season finale with Ingram sidelined. While Edwards got 12 carries to Justice Hill's three, it was Hill who scored Baltimore's lone touchdown after Ingram's exit on an 18-yard run. Edwards had five carries for 35 yards in Thursday's 42-21 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Baltimore turned to Edwards to close things out Thursday, giving him three carries in the second half. Edwards has been effective when given opportunities, averaging 5.2 yards per carry, but his workload has been inconsistent. Edwards had four carries for 20 yards in Sunday's win over the Bills.
Analysis: The Ravens have played close games in each of the past two weeks, and Edwards' playing time has suffered as he's combined for 10 carries for 35 yards in that span. Meanwhile, Mark Ingram and Lamar Jackson have been taking on the bulk of the rushing workload. That said, with Baltimore checking in as two-touchdown favorites for Thursday's game against the Jets, there's a chance Edwards' workload ticks up in Week 15.

Limited to 22 yards in win
Edwards ran for 15 yards on six carries and added a seven-yard catch during Sunday's 20-17 win over the 49ers.
Analysis: Predictably, Edwards' usage and efficiency dropped precipitously when forced to face off against a stout defense in a close game. After beating up on the Texans and Rams in back-to-back blowouts, Edwards, and the Ravens offense as a whole, struggled against the 49ers. A similarly tough matchup awaits Sunday in Buffalo, though the Bills have been gashed at times in the run game, surrendering 4.5 yards per rush -- 21st in the league.

Analysis: The second-year back's 14 carries Monday were his highest total since Week 1, which was another Ravens rout. Coming off a game in which he posted impressive per-carry numbers against the Texans, Edward's usage against the Rams is sure to draw some attention, but context is important. Scores long touchdown in win
Edwards rushed eight times for 112 yards and a touchdown in the Ravens' 41-7 win over the Texans on Sunday.
Analysis: Edwards put an exclamation point on the big win with a 63-yard touchdown rumble at the four-minute mark of the fourth quarter, marking his second rushing score of the campaign. His opportunity came as a result of game script, however, so expectations should be tempered, despite the big play. The second-year back hasn't seen double-digit carries since Week 1, and he'll be expected to continue in a clear complementary role versus the Rams in a Monday night Week 12 matchup.

Just four carries in blowout
Edwards had four carries for 17 yards Sunday against the Bengals.
Analysis: Even in a blowout, Edwards didn't factor into the game script much as he played just 11 offensive snaps, which marked a new season low. His four carries were his lowest since Week 2, when he posted three rushes for 11 yards. One reason for optimism regarding Edwards' stat line is that the Ravens ran just 45 plays and had the ball for a mere 23:49, so it's not as though the Ravens were leaning heavily on the other running backs. Edwards and the Ravens play host to the Texans in Week 11.

Analysis: Mark Ingram (115 rushing yards) did most of the heavy lifting against a tough Patriots front seven, but it was Edwards who provided the lone rushing touchdown aside from Lamar Jackson's two scores. The 24-year-old is averaging 7.4 carries as a change-of-pace option behind Ingram, but he is rarely used in the passing game and Sunday's score was his first of the season.
